Comic Con North East

Date1 Nov - 2 Nov, 2025
Event Details
Comic Con North East is part of the Monopoly Events family of pop culture conventions, attracting thousands of fans annually to the Utilita Arena in Newcastle.
The main attraction every year is of course the star guests, and we always endeavour to bring you a variety of exciting names from movies, tv, streaming, gaming, anime and sports entertainment. In previous years Comic Con North East has been proud to host the likes of Nick Frost, James Marsters, Mara Wilson and Simon Bird.
We’re all a fan of something, and Comic Con North East is the best place to celebrate all things pop culture. As well as having the chance to meet your heroes, get an item signed or a photo, many guests will also appear live on stage so you’ll get to hear directly about their new projects and previous roles.
For this event only we will accept backpacks at A3 size or under. Please be aware all bags will be searched on entry.
For this event only we are allowing a maximum of three food or drink items – these items need to be under 500ml if liquid and must be sealed.
Your ticket allows you entry all day, so if you want to leave for a while and come back later, you absolutely can. You will be required to go through our search and venue procedures each time you enter the Venue.
We know that Cosplay is one of the most fun aspects of any Comic Convention. Please see the Monopoly Events website www.comicconventionnortheast.co.uk/general-cosplay-faq for any restrictions on costumes and weaponry. If on entry our security team deem that any part of the costume could be classified as a weapon we will store it onsite for you.
There is a large car park onsite and accessible parking – Blue Badge Holders - is available by the side of the building on a first come, first served basis. Please see our parking app RingGo for all car parking charges.
For all up to date timings for autographs and talks please see the Monopoly Events website: www.comicconventionnortheast.co.uk or follow their socials.
Whilst some Traders accept both cash and card the Arena is a cashless venue so the food and drink stands in the foyer will be card only.
WHAT IS YOUR COSPLAY WEAPONS POLICY?
Monopoly Events adopts a common-sense approach to items allowed into the venue for use as cosplay weaponry. Obviously, anything that would be illegal to carry in public is forbidden. We would ask that you are considerate about fellow customers when deciding on cosplay weapons to bring with you. Our host venue will carry out security checks on entry and may confiscate any items that they consider to be dangerous. If in doubt we recommend you contact Utilita Arena directly about what they will and won’t allow into the venue.
WHAT IS YOUR COSPLAY PHOTO POLICY?
Monopoly Events adopt a strict consent policy with anyone wishing to take a photo with a cosplayer. No customer can take a picture of someone in cosplay whether they are alone, posing with the cosplayer, a selfie, or a professional photo for any digital or print usage without permission. Our security team reserve the right to remove anyone who we deem to be harassing or behaving inappropriately towards other attendees. If you have a picture taken with a cosplayer, you may not initiate any physical contact without permission. Even a hug or arm around the shoulder must be consented. If you are unsure, then stick to a simple NO contact rule.
