It’s a bold claim, but it’s true.
In 2008 we started giving Britain’s hardest pressed families a fairer, more transparent energy deal.
Recognising that those most in need of a good deal, the pre-pay market (commonly referred to as Pay As You Go), were being overcharged and poorly served, we set about shaking things up – estimating that we have saved households more than £500m on their energy bills since 2010.
Embracing new methods, we installed Britain’s first smart meter. It wasn’t British Gas, or SSE, or EDF. It was us.
Now everybody’s doing it.
We’re currently the ninth largest energy supplier in the UK - supplying more than 700,000 homes and businesses - and we’re proud to say we’ve got here doing things the right way - putting customers at the heart of our decision making to deliver meaningful benefits.
We continue to do this today and will do so again tomorrow.
What’s more, we are the only energy supplier who can look you in the eye.
We’re bringing energy stores back to the UK’s high streets, offering consumers face-to-face customer service and a host of other benefits.
