Metro Radio Arena is proud to announce the appearance of Velvet Revolver for the first time live on stage on Saturday 15th January 2005. The band began in 2002 during a jam session that reunited ex Guns N’ Roses bandmates Slash (Guitar), Duff McKagan (bass), and Matt Sorum (drums) on stage and after a VH-1 documented search Dave Kushner (Wasted Youth) joined as a second guitarist shortly followed by STP’s Scott Weiland. They clicked immediately after recording a soundtrack for the Hulk called “Set Me Free” in June 2003. June 2004 announced the release of the second single “Slither” which moved steadily up the active rock charts paving the way for the explosive debut album “Contraband”. Their music understandably echo’s a mix of STP and G N’ R and brings a sense of danger and beauty to modern rock. Metro Radio Arena’s Sales and Promotions Executive Nichola McKenna said: -”We are delighted to attract this band of legendary artists of rock, to Metro Radio Arena, this concert will definitely welcome in the New Year with a Bang” This concert adds to the already impressive line up of Rock artists appearing at the Metro Radio Arena including Deep Purple on 10th November, The Damned 14th November and The Darkness 29th November ‘04. Tickets costing £23.00 are on sale now and are available from all usual outlets
