St Oswalds Light Up a Life
Monday 20th December 2010
- Doors Open:
Every year Light up a Life represents the culmination of our busy fundraising calendar over the festive period at St Oswald's and provides a unique opportunity to remember loved ones, with thousands of people - not just those with a connection to St Oswald's - dedicating a light on our special Christmas tree. Each light is in memory of a loved one and they shine throughout the Christmas and New Year period.
This year, our Newcastle Remembrance service will take place at 6.30pm on Monday 20th December at the Metro Radio Arena As in previous years there will be ample disabled access and at the Metro Radio Arena we will have a Signer to ensure we can address all of our supporters. The Books of Remembrance will be on display both prior and post service for you to view at your leisure.
Our Light up a Life campaign is incredibly important to St Oswald's for two reasons, one is that the money raised from the symbolic sponsorship of the lights, enables the work of St Oswald's to continue and secondly but equally important, is that the Remembrance services provide an opportunity to come together at this special time of year and remember all those people we have loved and lost.
Supporters of the campaign receive a personalised card inscribed with the name of their loved one and they are invited to our Remembrance Services which take place in December. By dedicating a light in memory of someone special, you'll also be supporting the work of St Oswald's.
