Pins & Needles Needlecraft & Craft Show Returns to the Arena for its 9th Show Now in its 9th Year, this superb Needlecraft and Craft Show returns to the Metro Radio Arena this week between Thursday 23rd and Sunday 26th February, and features everything from sewing machines and embroidery to parchment craft and tapestry. The show is owned and managed by Initial J Promotions, a company set up by two farmer’s wives, Yvonne Straughan and Alyson Lough from Northumberland, who in 1997 decided to turn their hobby into a fully fledged annual event. Now featuring over a hundred stalls, there’s plenty to see and lots of opportunities for those who love to create their own work using a number of different skills, or to simply buy those hard to find supplies from the specialists and experts. Get inspiration from the exhibitions and various displays, and learn new techniques from the selection of professional workshops and demonstrations. The show will feature the ‘Poetry in Stitches’ Exhibition, featuring 103 pieces of Textile Art inspired by poems, including rag rugs, lacework, quilting, embroidery, painted fabric and tatting. There will also be an exhibition of patchwork and quilting by local contributors; it's also the Embroiderers' Guild Centenary Year and the event will be showcasing their collection of work.. More and more people are discovering the satisfaction of creating something that is both unique and personal, whether it be personal cards or a wedding gift. The show is also a favourite for brides to be. The show opens 10am to 5pm Thursday to Saturday, and 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday, the final day.
