‘ONCE IN A LIFETIME TOUR 2005’
DAVID CASSIDY, DAVID ESSEX, THE OSMONDS &
LES MCKEOWN 70’S BAY CITY ROLLERS
Tony Denton Promotions bring together four of the biggest acts of the seventies for a unique tour in June 2005 entitled ‘Once In A Lifetime’ and will be appearing at the Metro Radio Arena on Wednesday 22nd June ’05.
It is truly a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience with David Cassidy, David Essex, The Osmonds and Les McKeown’s 70’s Bay City Rollers - sharing the stage for the very first time at arenas across the U.K. performing all their hits.
A huge teen idol across the world following the massive TV show ‘The Partridge Family’, subsequent chart hits throughout the following decades and sell-out tours – U.S. star David Cassidy was one of the pop pin ups of the 70’s. His top ten hits included ‘Could It Be Forever’/’Cherish’ (No 2), ‘If I Could Be Heard’ (No.9), The Last Kiss (No. 6) plus the No 1’s ‘How Can I Be Sure’ and ‘Daydreamer’/’The Puppy Song’. David has won multiple Grammy nominations and starred in Joseph & His Technicoloured Dream Coat both on Broadway and in London’s West End.
From hit records to hit musicals David Essex OBE has had one of the most enduring careers in music - lasting over 30 years to date. David has starred in the musicals Godspell, Evita and Mutiny which he also wrote. His breadth of hits include two No 1’s – ‘Gonna Make U A Star’ and ‘Hold Me Close’ -other top ten hits include ‘Rock On’, ‘Lamplight’, ‘Stardust’, ‘Oh What A Circus’, ‘Brave New World’, ‘Silver Dream Machine’ and ‘A Winter’s Tale’.
The Osmonds, pop heartthrobs in the 1970’s, are reforming for this very special tour. This tour features Wayne, Merrill, Jay and Jimmy, who have not performed together on a tour in this line-up since 1980. The Osmonds have sold over 77 million records and their concert career parallels that of their recording success! The bands hits include two No 1’s – ‘Love Me For A Reason’ and ‘Crazy Horses’ – other Top Ten Hits include ‘Going Home’, ‘Let Me In’, and ‘The Proud One’.
LES MCKEOWN’S 70’S BAY CITY ROLLERS
The Bay City Rollers, featuring lead singer Les McKeown, were an international Supergroup. Dubbed Rollermania by the press, this kind of mass hysteria hadn’t been seen since The Beatles. The Bay City Rollers notched up nine UK top ten hits including ‘Keep On Dancing’, ‘Remember (Sha-La-La)’, ‘Shang-A-Lang’, ‘Summer Love Sensation’, ‘All Of Me Loves All Of You’, ‘Money Honey’ and ‘I Only Wanna Be With You’ plus two number ones ‘Bye Bye Baby’ and ‘Give A Little Love’
Metro Radio Arena’s Sales and Promotions Executive Nichola McKenna said: -”This flash back to the seventies is a unique opportunity for the people of the North East to see these top four acts perform together. Watch this space for another major announcement at the Metro Radio Arena in the next 24 hours”
Tickets costing £36.50 go on sale 9am Friday 12th Nov ’04 and are available from all usual outlets.
