Oasis Announce Two
Newcastle Summer Dates
The Metro Radio Arena is proud to announce that Oasis will play on Tuesday 12th July and Wednesday 13th July.
The band have already completely sold out 3 nights at the City of Manchester Stadium, as well as two nights at Milton Keynes National Bowl plus shows at Hampden Park, Glasgow and Southampton Rose Bowl.
Oasis rose to fame in 1994 and soon became one of Britain’s most popular bands of the decade, heavily responsible for returning British guitar pop to the top of the charts. Their music adopts the style and image of many previous legends such as The Beatles, The Who and The Jam while at the same time maintaining its own unique sound.
Over the course of 1996, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory became the second biggest British album in history, as Oasis became an international phenomenon. On the strength of the single ‘Wonderwall’, Morning Glory became a Top Ten Success in America, eventually being certified quintuple platinum; it also reached the top ten throughout Europe and Asia.
Nine years later, the band are still going strong and are responsible for many brilliant songs such as the 1994 hit ‘Live Forever’, and ‘Some Might Say’, ‘Roll With It’, ‘ Stand By Me’, ‘Morning Glory’, ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’, ‘Stop crying Your Heart Out’, and the iconic ‘Wonderwall’.
This concert is expected to sell out extremely quickly, and therefore fans are advised that the best way to purchase tickets will be via the Arena 24 hour Credit Card Booking Line on 0870 707 8000 or through the Ticketmaster website either at www.metroradioarena.co.uk (by click on the Ticketmaster icon), or directly at www.ticketmaster.co.uk
