For one night only R & B bands New Edition, Next, Silk and Xscape will be appearing live on stage at the Metro Radio Arena on 30th April 2005 as part of the Old School tour.
Ronald DeVoe Jr., Ricardo Bell, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant and Michael Bivins make up legendary R & B recording group New Edition. As they are about to celebrate twenty years as a group, they release their eighth album ‘One Love’. They have enjoyed hits in both the Pop and R & B Charts with songs such as “Mr Telephone Man”, “Cool it now” and “A Little bit of Love (is all it takes).”
Next released their debut album “Rated Next” in 1997 and topped the single charts with the smooth soul of “Too Close”. Composed of brothers T-Low and Tweety plus R.L. the R & B trio have supported Boys II Men.
Los Angeles R & B vocal group Silk have produced engaging harmonies and aggressively successful material. Their single “Freak Me” was a huge hit in 1993, followed up two years later with self titled LP.
Female R & B quartet Xscape have had success with their debut album, Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha breaking the top 20 thanks to the number two hit “Just Kickin’ It,” and later hit platinum. The second Xscape effort also made platinum, their third album “Traces of My Lipstick” smoothed out their sound.
