- Doors Open:
Come Fly with Michael Bublé
The Metro Radio Arena is thrilled to announce that Michael Bublé will play on Thursday 10th November 2005.
Michael first realised his ambition to become a singer as a child when his Grandfather asked him to recite some of his favourite songs from artists such as the Mills Brothers, Ella Fiztgerald, and Frank Sinatra. As a teenager he won talent competitions and also released several independent albums. He also performed in a musical review titled ‘Swing’.
In early 2001 Michael signed his first major recording contract with 143 Records through Reprise and work began on his major label debut.
His self titled album featured jazzy takes on old standards like ‘Fever’ and ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ as well as newer classics like Van Morrison’s ‘Moondance’ and the Bee Gees ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart’ performed with the Bee Gees. Adding his unique style to each of these songs he has shown the world that he can, indeed, swing.
Metro Radio Arena’s Marketing Director Paul Tappenden said: -“Michael Bublé has proved he has a wide fan base in the North East, previously selling out the Newcastle City Hall in a matter of hours. We expect a brilliant performance by a brilliant performer.”
Tickets costing £30/£35 go on sale 9am Friday 11th March and are available from all usual outlets.
