Kaiser Chiefs and guests We are Scientists and The Little Ones
Monday 10th December 2007
- Doors Open:
Hot footing it from their ‘barn storming' Glastonbury Pyramid Stage show and with a slew of festival appearances (due) under the collective wing, Kaiser Chiefs are pleased to announce details of their Winter UK tour including The Metro Radio Arena on 10th December 2007.
Kaiser Chiefs were the most successful artists from the Brit awards 2006, winning more awards than anyone else including 'Best Group' and 'Best Live Act', despite not having a single number 1 single OR album (at the time). They are yet another, in a growing number of top bands who played at Glastonbury 2007, who will be appearing at the Arena later this year. Paul Tappenden, Marketing Director for the venue said “We’ve got a very exciting and busy build up to Christmas from September onwards, with a very full programme of gigs, many of them fresh from their recent appearances at the Glastonbury 2007 festival“
The Kaiser Chiefs debut album ‘Employment’ was a barrage of bouncing art-pop brilliance and deservedly shortlisted for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize, just two years after the band formed; it became the fourth best-selling album in the United Kingdom that year, a massive critical and commercial success.
The much aticipated follow up album had a lot to live up to but “Yours Truly, Angry Mob” is a rip-roaring pop record sprightly, lean and adventerous – a bold leap skyward. Preceded by the release of lead single "Ruby" in February 2007, it became the band's first (and to date, only) number one album in the British album charts set to be the soundtrack of the summer.
The confirmed main support on all shows will be the fantastic We Are Scientists and opening all dates The Little Ones.
Tickets go on sale 9am Friday 29th June 2007 and are limited to 4 per person.
