Comedy superstar John Bishop is set to return to Newcastle in November 2017, as he announces his long awaited return to stand-up comedy, with a brand new live show, WINGING IT.

On announcing Winging It, John said: "When I start this new tour, it will be three years since my last live show Supersonic, which is the longest break I've ever had.  I'm very much looking forward to getting back on the road - there really is nothing like performing stand-up in front of a live audience.  The new show is called Winging It, and in some respects having come to comedy relatively late, it sometimes feels like that’s what I'm doing in life!  But I'm enjoying every minute of it."

Winging It will see John back on stage for his fifth UK tour, performing in his own inimitable style.  His last tour ‘Supersonic’ was watched by more than 500,000 people and received huge critical acclaim.  ‘Rollercoaster’ in 2012 was another sell out, and followed the successes of his ‘Sunshine’ tour in 2011 and the ‘Elvis Has Left The Building’ show in 2010, for which he was nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award.

Tickets are available online, from the booking hotline number 0844 493 6666 or in person from the Metro Radio Arena Box Office.

  • Passengers who use Northern rail services are being warned to plan ahead and expect disruption on Wednesday (08 November) as staff at the company hold one-day strikes. All Northern routes in North East England will be affected – some will have a limited service and some routes no service at all, and there will be no Northern trains anywhere in the North East beyond early evening. Rail users with tickets for Northern Rail services affected by strike action can use them on parallel bus services operated by Arriva. Please note that the last train from Newcastle towards Hexham and Carlisle departs at 5:16pm. The last train from Newcastle towards Middlesbrough is at 5:30pm. People who normally rely on Northern services are being advised to put off travel if possible, but otherwise think ahead and use journey planning tools to identify alternative modes – including other train operators, Metro and local buses. Check with Northern directly to see how your journey is affected and get updates from https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/industrial-action.
