Metro Radio Arena is delighted to announce the return of Elvis – The Concert on Sunday 1st May 2005 as part of their critically acclaimed world tour.
This is a live concert in every sense. Elvis’ ‘alive’ on stage by a multi-screen image is supported live by the same musicians and singers who supported him throughout his 70’s concert career: the legendary TCB Band – James Burton (lead guitar), Glen D. Hardin (piano), Jerry Scheff (bass guitar) and Ronnie Tutt (drums); The Sweet Inspirations (female backing vocals) and former band members The Stamps Quartet (male backing vocals). These together with the 16- piece orchestra under the baton of Joe Guercio, Elvis’ Musical Director and conductor.
This concert gives fans the chance to experience the electric atmosphere of an Elvis concert. The film footage is from concerts in 1970, 1972 and 1973. The 2005 concert will see some new footage from ‘Aloha’ and ’68 television special’. The footage shows Elvis at the pinnacle of his superstardom, at the height of his powers and a concert performer, and in top form physically.
There are NO impersonators, Elvis not only sings lead, he also interacts with the audience, and he even introduces his musicians. Audience reaction has to be seen to be believed – within minutes of the show commencing, everyone can be forgiven for thinking that Elvis is there. The illusion is amazing, his vocal strengths pass the test of time and his music lives on. In every sense it is as if … Elvis is really back in the Building!
Metro Radio Arena’s Sales and Promotions Executive Nichola McKenna said: -”This is a wonderful opportunity for all Elvis fans to experience the excitement and electricity of an Elvis concert at the North East’s top concert venue”
