DONNY OSMOND LIVE IN NEWCASTLE
The sensational Donny Osmond returns to the Metro Radio Arena on Friday 30th September 2005 as part of another highly anticipated UK Tour.
With a career spanning over 39 years, Donny started out as a kid singer and soon became the centrepiece in the Osmonds, competing for the hearts of pre teens everywhere.
1989 brought his first adult solo record and throughout the 1990’s he stayed in the public eye enjoying a five-year run as the lead in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Between his own and the Osmond Brothers recordings, he was awarded six gold records in 1971, eight in 1972, and four in 1973. Along with his brothers, he enjoyed a No.1 hit with "One Bad Apple", and stormed the charts with "Yo-Yo" and "Down By The Lazy River". On his own he has hit No 1 with "Go Away Little Girl" and made the top 10 with "Hey Girl". He has also released unforgettable covers of "Puppy Love", "Sweet and Innocent" and "The Twelfth of Never". Along with his sister Marie, Donny also enjoyed hit recordings and great success co-hosting a weekly variety TV series.
After the phenomenal success of his first solo tour in 2003 and not forgetting his memorable Summer Nights concert series earlier this year, Donny Osmond promises to capture the hearts of audiences again for this 2004 tour.
With a number one album and chart topping singles under his belt Donny Osmond will be releasing his new album “What I meant to say” on November 15 ’04.
Metro Radio Arena’s Marketing Director Paul Tappenden said: - “Donny is certainly another huge coup for the Metro Radio Arena, bringing the best world class entertainment to the people of the North East”
