Bill Bailey: Dandelion Mind

EVENT INFORMATION

  • Date: Wednesday 2nd November 2011
  • Doors Open: 8.00pm
  • Pricing: £29.50

Comic and musician Bill Bailey has today announced he will return to the Metro Radio Arena on Wednesday 2nd November 2011 with his smash hit live show Dandelion Mind. Following a sell out tour of the show in Australia and New Zealand, Bill took up a West End residency with the show last autumn. Described by The Times as "a glorious two hours of comedy ****" the show was such a success its run was doubled, taking the show into January of this year.

Featuring Bill's trademark musical interludes, observations and stories of the road, Dandelion Mind is based loosely on the theme of doubt, plus barely contained rants about celebrity, TV, and Michael Winner. He demonstrates new instruments, both ancient and modern, he sings an internet love song, a lament about punk heroes, Iranian hip-hop and plays a mean folk-bouzouki. Thomas the Doubter gets a new look, the finer points of nuclear physics and the myth of intelligent design are all worked over in Bill's own surreal style. He revisits the music of his youth with a French Disco re-working of Gary Numan's hit 'Cars', played in his own inimitable way, and maybe some Wurzels-based remixes of classic German techno, just your normal Bill Bailey gig then...

"Consistently superb... One of the finest comics in the land... 'Dandelion Mind' is one of his most accomplished, innovative and funniest shows to date." TIME OUT
