Apassionata – The Greatest Horse Spectacular in the World Apassionata – The greatest horse spectacular in the world will be coming to the Metro Radio Arena Newcastle on the 9th & now, due to sheer demand, also the 10th April 2005 for three shows as part of its European Tour. This tour sees the equestrian extravaganza perform for the first time in the UK and will include thirty-three stallions and one mare, all from some of Europe’s most famous riding centres. Apassionata will present five of the royal baroque horse breeds in a breathtaking show. Dancing ‘Andalusians’, fiery ‘Arabians’, powerful ‘Friesians’, elegant ‘Lipizzaners’ and royal ‘Lusitanos’ from five countries will demonstrate the perfect classical horsemanship that has been the wonder of Europe for many centuries. Apassionata promises pure entertainment for all the family. As well as opera singers, fiery flamenco dancers, stunt riding, classical dressage, pas de deux and quadrilles. Even the mythical horse Pegasus makes an appearance! From Arabian Desert scenes to simulated Iberian bullfights, from the noble court of imperial Vienna to Spanish cowboys, Apassionata demonstrates perfect collaboration between man and horse. But perhaps the true star of the show (and certainly the smallest) is Lady, the only mare amongst the stallions. On the hand of her owner Herman Wetehof this endearing Shetland Pony performs jumps and dressage of the highest standard. Metro Radio Arena’s Marketing Director Paul Tappenden said, “Following the success of other equestrian shows we have had here, and performances from the likes of the German Olympic Horse-Riding medal winner this show looks set to be another spectacular horse show which will delight the whole family.” Tickets cost £29/£25/£18 For more information on this show please see www.greatesthorses.co.uk
